Drunk In Charge of Horse

Abraham Hamer, of Cantel. Llanbister parish, was charged with having been drunk in charge of a horse at Llangunllo, on January 27th. P.C. Pugh, Llangunllo, said that about ten minutes past 10 on the night of the day in question, he saw the defendant in charge of a horse on the way to Llangunllo. Defendant fell from off the horse owing to his being drunk. Witness picked the defendant up and took the horse into a stable where it remained until defendant was sobered. Defendant, who did not appear, sent a friend to plead guilty on his behalf, and was fined 2s 6d and costs.
