Llangunllo W.I. Enjoy An Evening Of Felting

Llangunllo W.I. Felt Making 2022

Our March meeting saw us welcome another prospective member to add to the 3 new members who have recently joined us, which is great news. Our usual business meeting covered a range of items which the president updated us on. Good progress is being made with regards to our 100th birthday celebrations, the first being the planting of a tree with a time capsule, on April 10th; look out for photographs next month. Working groups were established for our County Show entries, our Easter Community Lunch and representatives met with other organisations in the village to discuss plans for celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. Hopefully, with all the events being planned over the year, Covid restrictions will be forgotten, but still carefully managed.

Following the business part of the meeting, we were introduced to the art of Felting by Rachael Storer, who shared with us the amazing items she has made from animals to a range of nativity figures although we did laugh at the inclusion of a flamingo.

As you can see from the photographs we all got really engrossed in making a felted egg.

It was a fun session despite several of us managing to stab our fingers with the felting needle! and was followed by our usual wonderful supper, which we all enjoyed.
