The 31st of December, that’s what..which meant it was time to welcome in New Year 2025, with fancy dress fun and plenty of live music at The Greyhound Inn, Llangunllo. Local musicians played & sang a wide range of songs, helping to provide a happy atmosphere, & a much-enjoyed, tasty buffet was provided by The Greyhound. This year’s fancy dress theme was ‘TV Sitcoms’, with quite a selection of different characters turning up, ready to party past the midnight hour.
Amongst the revellers were almost a complete holiday camp full of Hi-De-Hi yellow coats..Ho-De-Ho! 2 sets of A-a-arkwright & Nurse Gladys Emmanuel’s from Open All Hours; Ab-Fab’s Sweetie Darlings, Patsy & Edina, Blakey..”I’ll get you, Butler!” from On The Buses, 2 Barbara Good’s from The Good Life, Queenie from Black Adder, Foggy from Last Of The Summer Wine, Lily Munster, minus Herman; an escaped Porridge inmate, Calamity Jane, Only Fools & Horses’, Batman & Robin and Grandad..Lovely Jubbly; No, no, no..yes! Geraldine Grainger, from The Vicar of Dibley and all served, from behind the bar by Nessa from Gavin and Stacey..Tidy!
