The Carol Service on Christmas Eve was very well attended and St Cynllo’s Church, festively decorated in green and white, was full.
Traditional carols and Bible readings told the Christmas Story.
The children played an important role, helping to light the Advert Ring and, accompanied by Menna on the harp, delighted the congregation with “Away in a Manager” and “Happy Birthday” to Jesus as they gathered around the crib.
Musical items included, “Silent Night”, beautifully played and sung by Menna and Caroline, and Trevor certainly entertained all with, “Christmas Moods on the Trombone.”
The service was led by Pam, who also read the Christmas Message from Rev Petra, and after the reading from St John, it concluded with prayers and the hymn
“Go tell it on the Mountain – Jesus Christ is born.” Most apt for Llangunllo being located in the upper reaches of the Lugg Valley!
The collection will be shared with the Dioceseian Charity “Faith in Families” and after the service the community enjoyed seasonal refreshments and social time together.
