It was wonderful and uplifting to see over 70 people brace the elements and join us for the Live Nativity at the Sanctuary. Whilst it is the fourth time we have held the event, it is the first here in Llangunllo.
We were overwhelmed by the response and support from our lovely community.
The children all fully embraced their roles, Mary and Joseph dressed in full regalia, the kings were holding our bunnies instead of the normal gifts, the shepherds were keeping control of our sheep, and the three little angels were beautiful.
Poppy the Donkey and Duke the pony took their acting roles very seriously and posed for photos after the event. The whole barn was alight with giant stars, candles and twinkling lights. As we sang carols all the animals watched in fascination apart from the hens and Cockerells who felt the need to accompany us.
As the light faded we served Mulled wine, warm mince pies, sausage rolls and mini pies to keep everyone warm. The raffle was eagerly anticipated with some super prizes and helped raise funds for the animals and the church. It may have been freezing but our hearts were warmed by the kindness and enthusiasm of all who attended.
Happy New Year
