Stayed in the pet free cabin from 21-23rd Dec for a little pre-Christmas relax and we absolutely LOVED IT!!! The cabin was lovely and spotless and decorated with Christmas lights and bits which was a really lovely touch! The hot tub was epic and we spent most of our time in it. Also a very short drive to a few small local pubs which had a lovely atmosphere and nice food! Will definitely be returning soon 🙌🏻

Another excellent stay at Knighton wigwams. We’ve stayed in both cabins, both meticulously clean and very well planned to maximise space and provide everything you’d need for a relaxing, comfortable break. The location is just stunning, hard to describe how beautiful the view from the cabins is. Both feel very private and give you amazing views. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly with lots of suggestions for local things to do and walks in the local area, including several from the cabin. We love this place and will definitely stay again.

Lovely relaxing break away, we had the nicest weather 🌞 the sun made it even better being able to relax and enjoy the outdoors !The owners are lovely people, we visited the local town of knighton which had a cute little pub and the odd convenience store. The sheep outside the pod were adorable even more so in lambing season! Overall a great glamping site, hot tub huge and clean and the pod itself big enough and had everything we needed. Will definitely be returning soon.

We had an amazing peaceful break in the Red Kite cabin. The cabin was very clean and well presented and it had everything we needed. The owners had obviously put a lot of thought into what visitors may need during their stay. The hot tub was a hit with our family as was the fire pit. The owners were so friendly and took the time to talk to us about the farm and introduce us to a lamb. We made good use of the information folder in the cabin that provided us with information on local walks and amenities. We had fun visiting Elan Valley, the Red Kite centre and Shropshire Hills visitor centre all of which were not too far away. We have no hesitation in giving this awesome place a five star review. Thank you.

This place is just absolute perfection. We have just returned from a weeks stay here and we had such a lovely time. Chris is amazing, nothing too much trouble, always on hand. The lodge itself is beautiful. Fully equipped. Has everything you would need for your stay. We just loved it and definitely will be returning. We have stayed in quite a few lodges in the UK over the years but this one is by far the best. Cant wait to return, already planning our next visit.

We stayed here a month ago for a full week. The owners are really helpful if you need anything. The grounds of the house were neat and tidy, the house itself is amazing, lovely and clean, extremely roomy. Very short drive to local shops. We will definitely be visiting again.

Absolutely banging to be honest. Slept 11 I believe, but we only had 5. Lots of rooms, great facilities, and a lovely view! Probably the best Place I’ve been to in England/Wales (For a Holiday). Incredible view, like Insane. The only downside was the Flies that were there when we arrived. We were meant to be greeted by the door when we arrived but due to Covid – circumstances that wasn’t allowed. Unfortunate really! Another sidenote is be careful of the roads, very winding and mountainous.Overall, Amazing!! Well done!

Ploony CottageWe first visited Ploony Cottage over a decade ago and my now very grown up children insist on us all meeting up there once a year.We love the location and peacefulness of the area combined with the beautiful cottage itself.Wonderful for us townies to watch the sheep go by when they decide to change pasture or to catch sight of the Red Kites hunting above the woods. If its a cold night then the log-fire in the cosy living room soon warms you up, if its a warm night then a BBQ outside is on the cards underneath a breathtaking clear night sky. When its not too cold, keep your window open a crack at night to hear the owls on their dusk and dawn calls. The walks direct from your front door are fantastic, reach the top to be met with Middle Earth like views or jump in the car for the Radnor Forest a few mins away. The owners are lovely and very much hands on should you need them, Darren very kindly pointed out a route across his land that ends up at the Greyhound Inn – a fun-packed journey in the Land Rover that ends with some very nice pints indeed (with designated driver of course). Lindsey goes out of her way to make sure you’ve everything you need and instantly sorted me out with some fishing lakes when we inquired.Top tip: if you are staying with another couple, be gracious and offer them the bigger bedroom – they will have all the space but you will end up with the Super King Size bed which is to die for!Look forward to seeing you next year.

We have had a very relaxing holiday at the cottage, despite the rain. Our dog was very happy with the garden and the stream. We were happy with the large kitchen, the comfy beds, the views of the hills, the hot tub and the wide window sills.

The Lodge is more spacious than it appears on line. It is well equipped throughout. The Lodge is completely overlooked by Ploony Hill Cabin at the top of the hill (with the hot tub in full view) and is actually surrounded by the three other holiday homes here, all in close proximity. If you look at the comparison between the older photos of the Lodge’s exterior, seen on the booking portals, and some recent photos in this review posting, you will see numerous discrepancies. Not least the above, and the fact that the exterior of the Lodge looks tired and in need of TLC.We experienced poor communication in the run-up to our stay here (a polite question was completely ignored by the male owner). Unfortunately Sykes Cottages was the only portal via which the booking could be made, so I would have lost the whole cost if I’d cancelled the holiday at that point.I was waiting for a parcel to arrive. Actually some bird feed, because there was none here. The female owner dropped the parcel in to me 24-hours after it was delivered to her cottage. It could have been something vital. As I write, somebody suddenly appeared at the back window – an unannounced visit by the owner – to clean the hot tub. Quite a surprise, I have to say. She rapped on the window and her first words were “Control your dog,” who at that time was sitting down indoors and had barked once at the sudden intrusion. In fact this was all either of the owners had to say to me, aside from the female owner following up “Control your dog,” with the usual cover-your-backside “Is everything all right” and “Do you need anything.” I wasn’t about to strike up a conversation. I just wanted to put the rudeness behind me.You will be sharing the broadband’s basic-speed bandwidth allocation for the complex with the three other holiday homes, so expect barely useable broadband at peak activity times. The heating has been set to be barely warm. I have been cold in the living and sleeping areas from start to finish. Among the many diktats in the information pack, the owner actually says “Don’t touch the heating.”Another odd thing: in the arrival instructions, one is told to “Hoover up (sic) thoroughly before departure,” with the insinuation you may lose your housekeeping bond otherwise. Complacency has many faces; this particular one is not very pleasant.I have found this whole experience depressing. This is not what a holiday should be like. Thank goodness the owner of the place I am going next is communicates and conducts business in a civilised manner.Foot note:The revealing photos, that show how the lodge is not appointed quite as well as suggested, have somehow been blocked …. by the owners?

Brilliant place to escape to if you want peace and quiet. The lodge is spacious and clean and the added bonus of a hot tub. The only thing I think needs changing are the beds in the second bedroom which can be zipped together to make a king size bed. The mattresses were uncomfortable and you could feel the springs in the bed sticking in you. The farm track to the lodges can be quite a bumpy ride! But well worth the journey, and the peace is beautiful

Me and my wife have just come back from a lovely week at the lodgehottub was great, the place was full of everything you need a sky box to free wifiall the cutlery you could ever need, bbq pizza oven .The lodge was exactly what we wanted, built in 2017 so its just showing a bit more character darkened exterior timber etcits as isolated as you want it to be, there is the cabin up on the hill and if you lived on a deserted island then yes this would be a problem for you but for a quiet week away no problems.Darren and Lindsey were so niceWe even asked about the bad review and was all clear the said parcel was delivered to the wrong lodge when Lindsey knew this she took it straight up there!we were expecting a green eyed monster/ hot tub lady to show up but no it was just Lindsey asking if everything was ok and to make sure the hot tub had all its filter things topped up!will definately be back as soon as!Thanks for a fab weekSi & Ju
