Llangunllo WI AGM To New Book Club

Llangunllo WI Book Club

In March we held the AGM, Karen was re – elected President and our other officers were also happy to remain in place for another year. Members reflected on a busy 12 months with a wide range of speakers, “hands on” activities, visits and attending PRFWI events enjoyed – we now look forward to all the 2025 programme will bring.

Voting for the NFWI Resolutions 2025 has taken place and “By Standers Can Be Lifesavers” will go forward to the Annual Meeting in June. As a WI we will be organising a CPR training session for the community to “back up “the village defibrillator. Coffee mornings are also planned to highlight and give information on the other resolutions put forward.

Our entries for the County Show are up and running.

April’s meeting will be a visit to Monkland Cheese with lunch and then it will be the turn of Llangunllo members to prepare, cook and serve food at our Spring Community Lunch on Wednesday 9th.

Business complete, supper followed and members sharing together a favourite book, and what a variety of readers we have – those who love a murder mystery, to historical novels, to the environment and nature, the story of “Escape to the Country” in the 1960s and the mole equivalent of “Watership Down!”

The result – a Book Club is to be formed! This will run alongside our other WI groups and activities.
