The show had an official starting time of noon, but the Horse Events did start a little earlier. With 2 rings set up, one for show jumping and the other for showing and working hunter horses. The riders, looking resplendent and of all ages, put the horses through their trials, either over the fences or around the set course. A cup was presented for the Show Champion.
The Horse Show
Jen Smith, from Be Brilliant Dogs, was in charge of the dog show which started at 12:00 pm. A total of 10 classes were run, including; Waggiest Tail, Most Appealing Eyes to Best Rescue. Rosettes were awarded to those placed in the top three, with Best in Show being the overall winner. Two cups, kindly donated by Bryan Morgan, were presented to the Best In Show and Best Young Handler winners. I don’t think I have ever seen such a diverse arrangement of dogs all together in one place before. And very well behaved they all were too. The owners also had a chance for their dogs to perform in the ‘fetching the ball’ enclosure which was just for fun.
