Sunday, April 10th 2022 was a special date for LLangunllo W.I. as members came together to celebrate with the W.I. Federation County Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer and representatives from all the groups of the village. We gathered outside the village hall to plant a tree and bury a time capsule to be opened in 2050 by future W.I. members.
Dawn Gill our Vice President, who stood in for Karen Edgar our President who was unfortunately not able to join us as she was ill, gave a brief speech about our W.I. over its 100 years before all present took turns to add soil to plant the flowering cherry tree.
All agreed it had been a lovely way to mark our centenary, and we look forward to further events including a 1920s afternoon tea in May, look out for the photos of Llangunllo W.I. committee ladies in 1920s outfits, followed by a celebration with our community in July.
