Welsh events came to Llangunllo this summer and it played host to the following –
New Venue for the Sport of Kings
On 18th June the Wales and Border Harness Racing held their first ever meeting at Llangunllo.
The course, set among a picturesque backdrop of hills in the upper reaches of the Lugg Valley, provided an afternoon of entertaining and competitive racing.
Horses from Mid and South Wales gained a victory for their owner, trainer and rider, including the local Duggan Family.
Welsh 2 Day Enduro
Later in the month horsepower of a different kind was seen at Lea Hall Farm.
Motorbikes competed in a stage of this year’s Welsh 2 Day Enduro and a large crowd gathered to watch and enjoy the action.
First held in 1952, this motorcycle time trial has become an annual event as riders take to the roads, hills and forests of Mid Wales.
Sheep Dog Trials
At Griffin Lloyd Farm the Wales Open National Trials for Working Dogs was also held.
