Our Evening Worship service in June was a celebration of Father’s Day, and in particular, reflected on fathers who had been inspired to write stories and poems for their children and when later published enjoyed by both young people and adults.
Alongside the Gospel reading, prayers and hymns, classic poems were read by local members of the congregation and a family visitor. These included the “Owl and the Pussy Cat” by Edward Lear and “My Boy Jack” by Rudyard Kipling. AA Milne, the author of “Winnie the Pooh” also featured.
As always, after the service, refreshments were served and social time together enjoyed.
