Guests were greeted at Llangunllo Community Hall with a fine arrangement of flowers at the main doors. Inside, the hall and tables were set and decorated in a black and gold theme, with flowers and multi-coloured lights setting a relaxing atmosphere for the evening.
Live music, fine food and drink, and a full room made for a great evening on Saturday, June 17th. The Friends of St Cynllo’s Church and Llangunllo Community Hall had worked hard planning the event over the past few months and what a fantastic success it was.
The music was provided by the Shropshire duo, Boondogs, who didn’t take long to get people on the dance floor with their popular style of singing and playing. The licensed bar was busy too, having been ordered in especially for the evening.
There was an abundance of ‘Dickie Bows’ worn by the men and long dresses for the ladies and everyone looked smart. Dinner was an ample selection of ham, beef and a selection of salads served with hot potatoes. Dessert was strawberries and cream, trifle or chocolate gateau.
Dancing continued late into the night and it was good to see some talented members of the community showing off moves that wouldn’t be amiss in ‘Strictly Come Dancing!’
The evening wouldn’t be complete without a raffle and a few lucky people went home with prizes including wine, biscuits, chocolates and a plant. All in all, a great event enjoyed by everyone. Thank you to all those who helped make it a success.
