As the day moved on there was live music from local duo, The Outlaws of Babylon aka Tom and Vincent. The children’s football was very well supported and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. The Tug of War tournament was great fun! First came the children’s teams, then the adults/mixed teams, with a little skulduggery going on! There was a lot of ooh’s, arrgh’s and heaving going on, until we had a winning team. A great effort from all concerned. To close the day’s proceedings, the winners’ cups were presented and the raffle was drawn, sending home many happy prize-winners. As evening started to draw in, so the ‘Speed Shear’ started to attract the crowds. A great event with shearers of all abilities taking part well into the night.
The Llangunllo Show has been a great success, once again. There are so many people who get involved in volunteering behind the scenes, way before the big day, then from helping to assemble the field, taking time to make sure the day goes as smoothly as possible for all to enjoy, to putting everything away again after the event. Special thanks must go to Clodagh Weingart, Karon Duggan & Anna Jones for their huge commitment in making it happen, to Mr Haydn Jones for the kind permission to use his field and to this year’s President, Mr David Pugh. See you all in 2026!

No picture of Best in Show at the dog show?
There were 100s of photographs taken by our volunteers and it is difficult to capture everything, with the best intentions.
I took a photo from afar, during the presentations, which is possibly the ’Best In Show’ cup being accepted. It is also possible that Jen, from Be Brilliant Dogs, who ran the Dog Show may also have one. Photos are still being sent through from various sources & it is a huge undertaking to collate everything onto the website immediately. Is the dog a black & white Border Collie?
Yes, that’s the one. The dog’s owner (not me) would love a copy, especially of the cup presentation, &/or any others, when available.
