The bank holiday Sunday sunshine appeared, along with plenty of attendees, to cheer on the annual Llangunllo rounders tournament, BBQ & open mic on August 24th.
Three teams, crossing all ages, battled for the trophy-winning bragging rights on the Lower Bailey field, by kind permission of Haydn Jones. After their warm work-out on the pitch, the teams and supporters returned to The Greyhound Inn to celebrate and commiserate with a drink, burger or hot dog and to receive the winner’s cup. An array of donated prizes for pickings by the lucky raffle ticket holders were drawn, before a selection of local musicians, on hand to entertain during the afternoon, played their varied sets at the open mic, adding to the happy atmosphere. Many thanks to all involved for a most enjoyable event.
